Frosting – for cakes or faces? I say both!
Today I write in praise of frosting. The word, in English, clearly refers to a light covering of snow as does ‘icing’. In French, Italian, Spanish you can see a reference to ice, but you also hear it referred to just as ‘cream’. In German it’s ‘sugar glaze’; Zuckerguss and in Chinese literally “sugar frost’ 糖霜 or tang shuang.
For a few days this week, I’m going to post some great recipes for frosting to ready for the holiday season. Now normally frosting goes on cakes, but as seen in the pic below, it makes for a fun party facial (college party pic circa well the glasses say it all LOL)
