Guacamole revisited
So last night in Boston, rather than a lobster or some chowder we ate at Rosa Mexicano.. It was delish!! They have this fancy guacamole cart that comes to your table and makes fresh guac!
I have written about guacmole before but I wanted to again. So it’s squarely Aztec and the Spanish heard a word that sounded like ‘a waka ti’ which becomes ‘aguacate’ in Spanish and ‘avocado in English. The Aztecs called avocado sauce ‘waka mole’ or avocado sauce which becomes ‘guacamole’ – cool no?
