Polenta Pots are hot!
So you think you can make polenta in some Creuset fancy pancy pot? WRONG!
Well you can but according to my Grandfather, it just ain’t Polenta unless you make it in a copper Polenta Pot. I remember him stirring that stuff for hours in his Polenta pot that his family brought with them from Italia.
Made from corn now, Polenta was originally made of millet or barley. Corn came in the 15th century from the New World, so it’s a fairly recent ingredient for Polenta. The word is related to the word for ‘pollen’ and meant ‘hulled’ as in taking the skin off of some grain. It’s getting cooler so Polenta days are acomin!
